Our Story

Pastor T. K. Washington is a native Georgian, born to Cleveland and Dorothy Ann Washington. As a young adult, he joined the United States Navy. While serving in this branch of military, he met his soul mate, Geraldine Kirkwood and together they care for four beautiful daughters.

After marrying Geraldine, Pastor Washington was experiencing some of life's challenges, which finally led him to Christ on Saturday, May 22, 1993. After accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he was mentored by Bishop Levi E. Willis at the Garden of Prayer Temple, Church of God in Christ, Norfolk, VA. Since this time, he has obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies and a Master of Arts in Theology.

Pastor Washington truly has a heart for God's people. This Christian man, who has been appointed by God, preaches the gospel to the poor, heals the brokenhearted, preaches deliverance to the captives, recovers sight to the blind and set at liberty, those who are bruised as stated in Luke 4:18,19. With the bible as his sword, Pastor Washington is definitely a guardian angel sent from the heavens to look after God's people by teaching them the “Word” to aid in their situations while here on earth. He is anointed and committed to “Developing Disciples for Christ Who Make a Difference in the World.”

As an innovator and thinker, Pastor Washington is always studying the word to take God's people to another level. He has founded the following community events, which has made a difference in the lives of many:

* Aggressive Marriage Problem Solving Seminar (AMPS), which is conducted within a 12-month time frame, to strengthen marriages whether good or bad.

* “Power of Twelve” ministry, which is a saint-to-saint ministry that will close that proverbial backdoor to the church and strengthen church membership.

* Annual Anniversary Celebration, which is a two-day event where the members invite the community to fellowship, worship and thank God for our existence and growth as a church body.

* Back to school celebration, which is an annual celebration for the children as they begin a new school year.

Pastor Washington is a pillar in the community and is active at various capacities. He is a member of the Association of Independent Ministries (AIMS), the Twenty-nine Palms Chamber of Commerce, the Ministerial Association, Reach Out 29, the Community Chaplain Program and a Teacher/Trainer for the GFCCC Leadership Team.

Now that Pastor Washington is retired from the United States Navy, he continues to do what God has called him to do for His people in the High Desert and Morongo Basin areas of Southern California.
